Jams, jellies, Butters, PreservesJam, jelly, preserve, and butter recipes of our grand- and great-grand parents. These are fruit forward with just enough sugar, lemon juice and pectin to ensure a delicate gel. Each is made from fruit that provides bold, upfront fruit goodness rather than a fruit-like too sweet factory flavor. A perfect way to start your day on toast, or try it as a complement with your favorite mild cheese-Guyer and Sand Plum jelly on a cracker, delicious.
Varieties of our jams, jellies, preserves, and butters change depending on availability of fruit. This year, our neighbor graciously provided rhubarb from her patch for the most perfect Rhubarb-Strawberry Jam. Tart and tangy rhubarb upfront with a pleasant strawberry finish. The Blackberry Jam is fruity and deliciously sweet, partially deseeded during processing for a more enjoyable textural experience; a favorite with the neighborhood children. And my all time favorite crystal clear jelly, Sand Plum, picked from a thicket on our property. Bold upfront plum flavor and just enough added pectin to give it the perfect jelly gel.
